Gold for Heimat Zürich: Swiss agencies secure five Epica Awards on Monday
This year's Epica judging has begun in Amsterdam. The Swiss agencies got off to a flying start.

Amsterdam is idyllic even in November: The Epica Awards have taken up permanent residence in the Netherlands. (Photos: Thomas Häusermann/Advertising Week).
Day 1 in Amsterdam. After 30 years of creative nomadism, the only international creative award whose jury consists exclusively of journalists has found a permanent home in the Dutch capital.
Once again in 2019, numerous representatives of leading industry and trade media - including tone-setting titles such as Adweek, Campaign or Lürzer's Archive - gathered to award the pyramids of crystal. The Advertising Week has always been an integral part of the jury.

The third Swiss silver goes to TBWA\Zurich in the "Graphic Design" category. The multiple award-winning campaign for the Big Mac's 50th birthday. 50 illustrators designed 50 examples of how the world has changed in that time - except for the Big Mac. Probably the most awarded work in agency history may have reached the end of its award career at the Epica Awards. But two more awards are still possible.
The gold winner in the category was Havas Montreal's campaign for Daniel Gagnon's Speed Reading Teaching Seminars. Speadreading is about learning to read faster and more accurately. Among other things, the winning campaign includes these two subjects:

In the "Graphic Design" category, gold goes to Kolle Rebbe in Germany. With the implementation of "The logo behind the logo" for the anniversary of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the agency convinced the jury.
Swiss agencies can continue to hope for numerous pyramids. Tuesday will show who can cheer again. The awards will be presented on Thursday at the Tropical Museum in Amsterdam - as always, all gold winners will be able to collect their trophies directly on stage.

Ruf Lanz wins silver in the "Professional Products & Services - Print" category with the campaign "The art of delivering art" for Welti-Furrer. The first wave of the campaign already provided precious metal in earlier Epica years - back then, famous art personalities such as Mona Lisa flew to their destination by scheduled flight. The second wave launched in November 2018, in which artists such as Salvador Dali and Vincent Van Gogh take the reins themselves, also impressed the Epica jury.
Last but not least, Veeam Software Group also wins silver in the "Websites" category with the "Worst UX website ever" for Nauxi.com: "The Music behind the Recipes". Here, Spotify playlists were precisely matched to recipes:

On the very first day, the Swiss agencies convert various shortlist places into precious metal. First and foremost, Heimat Zürich: The agency wins gold in the "Recreation & Leisure" category and silver in the "Mobile Campaigns" category with the Kieser Training campaign "Read Upright".
Gold in this category goes to Energy BBDO with the campaign
