Innsbruck is Austria's second-strongest destination—after Vienna—in the segment of major international conferences. The IHF's move to the Tyrolean capital reinforces this leading position in the conference market.

From December 4 to 6, 2019, the International Timber Construction Forum IHF will take place, this year already for the 25th time, for the first time at the Congress Innsbruck. Tyrol sees itself as "wood country" and is predestined for this world-leading congress. It underlines the provincial capital of Innsbruck and its position as a top destination for major international congresses.

Innsbruck: geo-logical wood destination

With its powerful wood industry, numerous innovative commercial enterprises in the wood sector and in combination with the scientific location as well as the sustainable management of the mountain forest, Tyrol is ideally suited as an event location. The IHF expects up to 2000 participants and over 130 exhibitors from all over the world at the Congress Innsbruck in early December. The key players of the industry such as Fermacell, Rothoblaas, Hasslacher Norica Timber, Steico, Isocell or the Tyrolean local heroes Egger and Binderholz have already announced their participation. The Tyrolean timber industry plays in the top league worldwide and the domestic timber construction industry is known for its innovative strength and top quality far beyond Tyrol.

"The province of Tyrol, the provincial capital of Innsbruck, the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, Innsbruck Tourism with the Convention Service Innsbruck, the Convention Bureau Tyrol as well as proHolz Tirol and the Congress Messe Innsbruck and Innsbruck as a destination, represents the perfect setting for our world-leading congress due to the connection to timber construction and the magnificent natural backdrop" says IHF Marketing Director Ingrid Höhensteiger.
