BPRA agencies also up in 2018 - for the fourth year in a row

The annual market statistics of the Association of PR Agencies in Switzerland BPRA show the leading communications agencies once again in the plus: For the fourth time in a row, the 22 agencies united in the BPRA recorded growth (+3.7 percent).

In 2018, BPRA agencies were able to continue the growth of previous years, as shown by the market statistics published annually in spring by the Association of PR Agencies in Switzerland BPRA. More than half of the member agencies (12 or 55 percent) were able to grow by between 0.3 and 53.5 percent.

The 22 agencies that make up the BPRA represent two-thirds of the total market and generated net fee income of CHF 84.5 million in 2018. This figure - together with the optimistic forecasts issued by the members at the end of 2018 - makes them confident for the current year 2019, according to a statement.

The agency market continues to be led by Farner Consulting and Furrerhugi. New member Weber Shandwick follows in third place. CRK and Wirz Brand Relations occupy places 4 and 5. The complete market statistics can be viewed at Bpra.ch/statistics can be viewed.

"BPRA agencies are innovatively managed communications agencies with clear quality standards, a holistic approach and a high commitment to ethical standards. This seems to be more and more in demand in the market," BPRA President Andreas Hugi is pleased about the positive development in the agency market.

At the general meeting on April 10, two seats on the BPRA board were also filled - one of which was newly created to give up-and-coming agencies a voice not only in their projects but also on the board. Tanja Hollenstein is succeeded by Claudia Bracher (pictured left) from the Basel agency Int/Ext Communications, and Nathalie Klingler (right) from Contcept Communication takes her seat on the YoungBPRA. In the newly created YoungBPRA, young agency employees launch networking and continuing education projects and provide the association with input for its further development.
