SRF takes the Storyclash podium for the first time in February
The upward trend has been evident for months, and now the achievement is a reality: Since February, SRF has been Switzerland’s second-strongest social media brand.

In recent months, SRF has made strong gains on social media and constantly climbed up the Storyclash rankings. But it never quite made it to the top - until February. Blick slipped off the podium (-16%) and 20 Minuten had to relinquish the second place it had gained in January (-11%) - to SRF. The social media players from Leutschenbach put in a remarkable February with a 23% increase in interactions compared to the previous month (which was even longer). It is clear where the screw was tightened: SRF achieved over 200,000 more Instagram interactions than in January. On the current social media channel of the moment, it is almost as strong as the Ringier youth portal Izzy, which focuses mainly on Instagram. Only Energy Switzerland, with almost 3 million interactions, continues to play in a different Instagram league. SRF continues to benefit from its broad social media strategy: Swiss radio and television achieves considerable interaction figures on all four Storyclash-relevant channels (Facebook, Instragram, YouTube and Twitter).
And what else? Blick am Abend plummeted (-52%), while Lematin.ch performed strongly in February and climbed four places with an increase in interaction of 11% (new: 8th place) - a return to the top 10.
Izzy shines in the top posts: the portal's most successful post in February was an Instagram video for Valentine's Day. The hidden camera shows how - thanks to the use of mirrors - even single people can have a romantic date for two. But that's not all: six of the ten most successful posts in February came from Izzy.
The most successful articles shared on social media once again show that the French-speaking Swiss like to share their media a lot on Facebook. First and second place were taken by 20Minutes.ch and LeMatin.ch. This is the same LeMatin article that was also linked internally by Tamedia on 20Minutes.ch. It is about a speech by French President Macron, in which he firmly rejected any suspicion that France had taken inspiration from Switzerland on democratic issues.
Also interesting: The interview with the German astrophysicist Harald Lesch, published on Tagesanzeiger.ch, is in fourth place among the articles with the most interactions. The article caused a stir in the media industry because the freelance journalist Reto Hunziker published the story about the publication of the interview in Medienwoche: He ended up making it available to the Tages-Anzeiger free of charge after a paid publication was rejected by various titles. The article "Why I gave an interview to the Tages-Anzeiger" was not released until February 28 and is unlikely to have had any influence on interactions in February.
