Foundry creates the overall appearance for the new boutique hotel Signau House & Garden
107 years of inspiration. Ten rooms. A water lily. And a blossoming debut. Foundry showcases Zurich’s new boutique hotel, Signau.
Once upon a time, there were three Zurich families who were friends. And an audacious project: the transformation of a villa slumbering in deep slumber in the quiet yet centrally located district of Zurich-Riesbach into a place of hospitality, aesthetics, comfort and style. The result was the new boutique hotel Signau House & Garden, which opened a few months ago. Also with the active support of the creative agency Foundry.
The building was erected in 1912 in the English country house style and has been renovated over many years in an elaborate and stylish manner. Today, in addition to a total of ten rooms, it offers a beautiful garden, an in-house cinema and plenty of space for extraordinary events.

Meanwhile, Foundry took on a different, namely communicative, construction site. Inspired by the house, its long and eventful history, and not least by the Froebeli water lily blooming in the garden, a modern and at the same time timeless corporate identity was created. It combines the old, the new, tranquility, modernity, aesthetics, and an irrepressible desire for beautiful little details - consistently with a stylized water lily as the logo.

The new corporate identity picks up on the colors and shapes of the house. This includes, for example, references to ceiling patterns or the use of the exterior paint as a color code. Overall, in the development and implementation of the corporate design, great importance was attached to quality craftsmanship and individuality down to the finest nuances. This includes the choice of exquisite paper as well as the conscious choice for the traditional screen printing process.
In addition, Foundry was not only responsible for the branding, but also for the conception and implementation of the new website. Signauhouse.com responsible. Here - as everywhere else - attention to detail in words and images was the decisive guideline for all sub-trades. Added to this are the lovingly designed house book and numerous social media measures.

The launch and opening of the Signau House & Garden boutique hotel was also followed with much goodwill and attention in the Swiss press. The coverage, to name just a few examples, took place in the NZZ as well as in the Tages-Anzeiger or in the Tagblatt of the City of Zurichwhich called the new hotel a "delightful surprise" with "lots of patina," a place where "dreams bloom like water lilies."
