What was foreshadowed in December has become a reality in January: 20 Minuten has overtaken its main competitor, Blick, in Storyclash’s social media ranking. Izzy and SRF are closing in from behind.

After a long period with Ringier and View-dominance, Tamedia is pushing ahead with 20 minutes once again overtook the competition from Dufourstrasse. The company did not make any particular gains in January, but simply lost less than Blick (-1% vs -7%). That's enough 20 minutes for a month - with only Energy Switzerland ahead of the commuter medium. However, it still has a large lead, which it was even able to increase significantly. Almost 1.2 million interactions 20 minutes in January on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) - but the lead on Blick is only a good 40,000 interactions. 20 minutes - traditionally very active on Facebook with over 1 million interactions - seems to be stepping up its activities on Instagram. These efforts are now paying off.

The fact that the two titles cannot rest on their laurels is shown by the following two places: Izzy This represents an increase of almost 300,000 interactions compared to the previous month, making up two places - and the trend is rising. And also SRF gains a remarkable 11 percent. Swiss radio and television is the most Energy and Izzy is now the third most popular Swiss media brand on Instagram. Places 2 to 5 are so close to each other in January that it will be interesting to see what the ranking will look like in February.

Izzy with a good hand in January

In the top posts, Izzy takes the top two places for the most interactive posts in January. While the sales heart beats faster with number one - it is a paid cooperation with the Benedict Handelsschule - number two documents something that Izzy also seems to have a pretty good handle on how to fool the Swiss media landscape. After the alleged crop circles in the last viral stunt, this time a possible original Banksy caused a stir in Zurich.
