The most modern pharmacy in Switzerland

DIGITAL SIGNAGE The Hörning pharmacy on Marktgasse in Berne presented the future of the retail trade. Overnight, the racks behind the checkouts were dismantled and replaced by 12 large touchscreens. The new digital presentation of goods is intended to offer customers more time. Behind the checkouts at the Hörning pharmacy in Bern there are no longer any packs, but a 10-metre-long wall with 12 touchscreens. Products are presented to customers using a 3D animation and explained with additional information. A robot works in the background, sorting the products by frequency of request and delivering them to the upper floor at the touch of a button, allowing products to be sorted thematically at the touch of a button, giving customers an overview of the available products at a glance. Additional information will also enable even more comprehensive advice in future, and the staff at Apotheke Hörning are delighted with the new possibilities: "Thanks to the digital product presentation, we have more time for our customers. We can also involve customers better in the consultation," says Jeanne Caroline Huracek, Operations Manager and pharmacist at Apotheke Hörning. The digital presentation of goods is a long-term investment and will initially only be introduced for selected locations. Even if many are enthusiastic about the futuristic technology, the installation is not a "gimmick", but is primarily intended for pharmacies with limited store space and high visitor frequency.
