Sabrina Langfellner Is co-founder of pupoll GmbH and responsible for marketing and PR. MK What is the idea behind the Online platform pupoll?SABRINA LANGFELLNER In the beginning there was the wish to develop a faster and clearer alternative to the usual forums. On pupoll.com, users can create surveys on any topic free of charge and without registration, as well as participate in the surveys of other users. The platform is not only used to gather information, but also to express opinions by submitting votes and comments. The platform was also designed to meet the customer's need for efficient online advertising, which is reflected, for example, in the exclusivity of the banners and the special targeting options. We wanted to move away from the "transparent customer" so hated by users and target advertising precisely to the user's interest within the current survey, instead of collecting vast amounts of data.MK You launched your offering at the beginning of May. How was the feedback?LANGFELLNER Although we are still in the alpha phase and are constantly developing the platform, we have already received a lot of positive feedback. In addition to the good usability, the fact that the platform is available free of charge and without registration was praised. The focus on the content created by the users and the clear presentation of the results, which are already visible before voting, were also positively highlighted. The customer side has also recognized the great potential of the platform and appreciates the good targeting and the way the banner advertising is integrated. Since we are currently still focusing mainly on user acquisition, we have not yet fully exhausted our offer for advertisers.MK What forms of online advertising do you offer and which are in particular demand?LANGFELLNER We currently offer three different forms of advertising. With run of site advertising, banners are delivered independently of specific keywords and are therefore particularly suitable for brand awareness campaigns. The interest-specific advertising is displayed according to the booked keywords. The keywords can be defined broadly (e.g. "health") or specifically (e.g. "hay fever"). In addition, we offer opinion-specific advertising, which is displayed after the vote according to the answer given. In general, we achieve very good results with all advertising options, which is due to the efficient targeting, the exclusivity of the banners, and the fact that the banner is always in the user's field of vision.MK Which companies do you particularly want to target with your advertising offer?LANGFELLNER Due to the actually unlimited subject areas, pupoll is suitable for all companies that run banner advertising in the DACH countries. At the moment, there are still some thematic focuses, such as electronics. With our service offer, we mainly address companies that have not hired an advertising agency or similar for their online advertising and want to take advantage of our comprehensive consulting. However, we not only provide initial advice, but also continuously optimize our customers' campaigns in line with the current development of topics on the platform.MK Can you give us an example of what a typical advertisement on pupoll might look like?LANGFELLNER Together with the customer, we develop a targeted campaign on pupoll, and determine the focus on the various forms of advertising. We usually set a budget, a number of impressions or another campaign goal, and talk to the customer about their target group to identify suitable keywords and surveys. Due to the dynamic nature of the platform, we constantly monitor the results of the campaign and optimize it, for example, in terms of keywords.
