There is much to learn
A new film by Filmgerberei for the Zurich University of Teacher Education provides an insight into the teaching profession and the university's self-image. In doing so, the PH Zurich adopts a questioning attitude and emphasizes its concern to work on ever new answers.

Together with Filmgerberei, the university has developed a script that focuses on social and educational issues. Beginning with a view of society as a whole, the film moves on through the school field to the PH Zurich, from general questions to questions of people in the educational environment. The goal is to show the value of the teaching profession, in which teachers constantly confront these and other questions anew.
With the script as a basis, each statement had to be embedded in a social situation. For this, 70 actors were on location at twelve different locations. A tightly packed program for four days of shooting. No problem for Marike Löhr, producer: "I love such coordination tasks and we were enormously lucky in finding actors and locations."

The end result is a film that illustrates events, each in very short sequences, that everyone can relate to. "Only five seconds per scene; with this brevity, a shot must be strong enough to establish the mood and tell the content," says cinematographer Silvio Gerber, describing the challenge. Additional close-ups emphasize the details in each case and connect the various scenes into a whole story.
