Ivory the elephant
A blanket ban on ivory is set to take effect in the United Kingdom. The NGO Stop Ivory and JWT want this to happen as soon as possible—and for other countries to follow suit.
Elephants can only be saved if the ivory trade is completely banned. Without exceptions. Because even antique carvings from a time when elephants could still be killed to their heart's content and completely legally keep the market alive and with it the desire for this precious and equally fatal raw material. Stop Ivory wants the corresponding legislative proposal to be implemented as quickly as possible. And that the other European countries soon follow suit - right up to a global ban on the ivory trade. A good idea, because nobody needs ivory. Elephants, on the other hand, do. (hae)
