Last but not least: Tagesthemen presents awards for its own contributions
For the fifth time, the editorial team of ARD's *Tagesthemen* has honored the year's best reports with the *Tagesthemen* Award. ARD Editor-in-Chief Thomas Baumann and NDR Program Director Frank Beckmann personally delivered the laudatory remarks.
ARD awarded prizes in the categories of young talent and illustration, a trophy for NDR and a lifetime achievement award. A total of ten winners received the coveted award, according to the editorial team's blog. What sounds like self-congratulation on the part of ARD was actually a review of the year, embellished with the presentation of several Tagesthemen awards. Here is an award-winning contribution from the selection of winners:
Best final piece: "Joschka's second career" by Christian Nitsche, ARD Berlin (11.09.2009)
