Touring bikes, e-bikes, mountain bikes and racing bikes are a fixed part of the program for many holidaymakers in Switzerland. One in five people get on a two-wheeler during their summer vacation. Cycling is particularly beneficial for alpine tourism. More than two thirds of trips take place in the Alps.

With the summer campaign presented on Thursday, the marketing organization Switzerland Tourism aims to further increase the number of cycling enthusiasts. "We guarantee the most intense cycling experience in the world", promised Switzerland Tourism Director Martin Nydegger according to a press release.

Cyclists can now book complete tours, including hotel accommodation and luggage transport. In addition, Switzerland Tourism is launching "Ride The Alps", which offers pass rides without disruptive car traffic.

This summer, Switzerland Tourism has set itself the goal of attracting guests from distant markets who have little or no experience on the saddle to cycling. Guided, easy tours are being offered under the title "First Bike Experience", allowing tourists to experience nature with as few accidents as possible. (SDA)
