Comqed marginalizes different on behalf of PET-Recycling Switzerland
The wrong kind of plastic packaging in the PET collection? Comqed sets the record straight for Switzerland: Only PET beverage bottles belong in the collection.

Unfortunately, plastic packaging of all kinds is still sneaking into the PET drinks bottle collection - a major problem for PET recycling. This is despite the fact that the PET collection is actually ONLY for PET drinks bottles! Since last year, PET drinks bottles have therefore become active themselves and have shown the "other" plastic packaging the door in TV commercials.
Now the animated PET drinks bottles are becoming even clearer. In two further developed TV commercials and five new short Internet commercials, various other types of plastic packaging are unmistakably put to rest: This is only for PET drinks bottles - not for yogurt pots, not for milk bottles, not for cleaner bottles and not for food boxes or detergent bottles either. NO, the PET collection is really ONLY for PET drinks bottles! And you can see this not only in the moving image, but also on a poster campaign.
Of course, the recycling population only means well, but foreign material must remain absolutely taboo for PET collection. And not all PET is the same. For optimum PET beverage bottle recycling, in which old PET beverage bottles are turned into new ones, recyclate made from first-class raw material is required. This can only be obtained from homogeneous collected material - precisely that which consists exclusively of PET beverage bottles.
Increasing quantities of foreign material are now ending up in the PET drinks bottle collection. These can be oil or vinegar bottles made of PET, food packaging made of PET or even worse - other plastic packaging such as milk bottles, shampoo or detergent bottles. This leads to various problems in the PET recycling process. Because PET beverage bottles are food packaging, very strict hygiene and production regulations apply to recycling.
With the new PET Recycling Switzerland campaign, PET drinks bottles are now telling their plastic counterparts in no uncertain terms: Sorry, but unfortunately, anything different is not allowed in the PET collection.
