Teleclub shows first co-produced TV series
Starting April 3, Teleclub will air a new TV series about Geneva's private banks and banking secrecy. Teleclub participated in the production of the French-Swiss thriller series and will focus even more on similar projects in the future.

"Quartier des Banques" is the first TV multi-part series to be co-produced by Teleclub. Starting April 3, the Swiss pay TV station will show two episodes a day of the thriller series, which was produced in cooperation with RTS television in western Switzerland. While Teleclub has so far mainly co-produced feature films and documentaries, the focus will increasingly be on innovative series formats in the future. "We are delighted to be able to show the German TV premiere of 'Quartier des Banques' from April 3," says Patrick Gantner, Head of Programming Teleclub Fiction and member of the Executive Board. "We are committed to offering Teleclub customers only the best. Producing high-quality series content that is not only exciting and entertaining, but also has a local connection, fits perfectly into this strategy. So 'Quartier des Banques' won't be our last Teleclub original."
Murder and intrigue, secrecy and discretion
"Quartier des Banques" is set in a world where constant power struggles and intrigues between bankers, commodity traders, lawyers, doctors and policemen are the order of the day. When the young bank director Paul Grangier is found unconscious in Geneva, his sister Elisabeth immediately believes that a crime has been committed. She takes over the management of the traditional private bank, which has been in the family for over 200 years. But with her spontaneous action, she secretly pursues completely different goals: She wants to find out on her own who is behind the attack on her brother.
The banking series takes place in January 2012 - just at the time when the Swiss financial sector came under the scrutiny of the American and French judiciary because of untaxed client assets and the end of bank client confidentiality was slowly but surely becoming apparent. For years before that, the Geneva banking world had been characterized by secrecy and absolute discretion. The French screenwriter Flore Vasseur was inspired by real banking scandals and now breaks through this wall of silence.
"Quartier des Banques" will be broadcast in two-channel sound in a German dub as well as in the original French version on Teleclub Cinema.
