The Azadi Association supported both the content and format of the social livestream.

Ethnic cleansing is taking place against the Rohingya in Myanmar - and the world is looking the other way. In 2017, the conflict reached a new, sad climax. Thousands of people were displaced or killed, their homes burned down. Since then, more than half a million Rohingya have fled.

Azadi Association supports the displaced Rohingya through school projects, giving the refugee children access to education. But how to reach the public when the conflict has disappeared from the daily media?

With a very special live fundraising campaign: the Azadi Social Livestream. We announced this special Facebook livestream via social media and invited users and multipliers from the press and public to actively participate and share the stream on their profiles. As a result, the livestream reached over 35,000 viewers.

In a one-hour live broadcast from the Azadi-supported Madrasah Al-Ain School in Subang, livestream participants learned more about the project, were able to donate money and, thanks to a camera crew on site, watch live how the school children used the donations for whiteboards, pencils, school bags and more.

Over 730 hours of live views were achieved and the volume of donations on the day of the broadcast was several times the annual donations of 2017. Thanks to a clever idea and a lot of commitment from everyone involved.
