Tattoo to go

Metro Boutique Basel rewards customers with a free tattoo when they make a purchase of at least 200 francs.

Tattoos seem to be increasingly becoming a marketing tool. With the Kulturlokal Kugl and the football club Hertha BSC two players recently gave away a tattoo as a marketing stunt, which will serve as a free entry ticket for the rest of their lives - we reported. In the first case, the winner received a motif worth seeing (namely the Kugl logo); in the second example, the tattoo should at least appeal to die-hard Hertha fans.

A little less original, but probably just as sensational, the Metro Boutique in Basel is now capitalizing on the hype surrounding body painting: Anyone who buys for 200 francs can get a tattoo on the spot. There is one restriction: the motif cannot be chosen entirely freely, but must come from a selection available. Of course, these are not back-covering monumental works, but "mini tattoos". In addition, customers must be at least 16 years old, and minors must also present the signature of a parent or guardian.

The campaign takes place in collaboration with the Basel tattoo studio Art & Tattoo from March 8 to 10. So if you still need a summer jacket and have long wanted a dolphin on your shoulder, you should make a note of this date. You won't be able to get a tattoo any cheaper than this. And it might not be any cheaper - depending on your shopping frenzy. (hae)
