Lamb Side Story
Instead of arguing, you’re better off grilling some lamb. That’s the view of Meat & Livestock Australia—which is launching «Lamb Side Story,» a flawless TV commercial-length musical.

Meat & Livestock Australia is the marketing and market research company that works with the government to boost sales in the Australian meat industry. This is a questionable marketing objective, and not just from a vegetarian and vegan perspective - for ecological reasons, the efforts should actually be going in the other direction. But Australians don't need to be told anything about meat consumption anyway: The inhabitants of Down Under are world leaders, eating an average of 80 kilograms of sheep, beef, pork and chicken per year. In Switzerland, the figure is just under 51 kilograms.
Apart from that: The "Lamb Side Story" campaign created by The Monkeys and launched in January 2018 is great cinema. In a world where (at least it feels like) the fronts are constantly hardening, a joint BBQ can work wonders. Sometimes it takes very little to unite hostile camps. Political satire in advertising form - wrapped up in a "West Side Story" parody. True to the motto: Make Lamb, not War. (hae)
