SDA staff go on three-hour warning strike
The SDA editorial staff is taking industrial action and will hold a three-hour warning strike on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. According to Syndicom, the reason is the «uncooperative stance of SDA management.».

To this day, the management refuses to enter into negotiations about the demands of the staff. With this "stubborn attitude", the SDA management is turning a deaf ear to the demands of the workforce and allowing employee participation to degenerate into a burdensome duty for the management, according to Syndicom's letter.
Particularly disturbing for the staff, he said, was the fact that to date no transparency had been created about the company's financial situation and that the management had not been able to show how it intended to maintain basic media services in the future. A basic service on which small and medium-sized media companies in particular depend.
Demands and willingness to talk
The workforce is sticking to its main demand that any redundancies will only be announced after the end of negotiations and continues to show a willingness to talk. The talks that have begun on a social plan are only one of five demands that have been put to the management by the staff.
Bernese government informs itself about the situation of the SDA
The Bernese cantonal government is also interested in the news agency's situation. The government council dealt with the issue at its meeting on Tuesday morning. The government council has taken note of the situation of the SDA and the open letter of the editorial office, spokesman Christian Kräuchi explained on request. He did not provide any further details.
The SDA editorial team has addressed its letter to the federal authorities, but also to the cantonal governments. It opposes the job cuts on the scale announced. (pd/hae/SDA)
