New dress, more debate: Relaunch for the Schaffhausen News
With Friday's issue, Schaffhauser Nachrichten (SN) comes in a new, fresh look and offers more classification, more of its own and others' opinion pieces.

The proven newspaper structure with international and national news in the first bundle and the regional section and sports in the second bundle will be retained. The new layout is classically modern, but at the same time offers more flexibility, especially in the presentation of longer articles.
In terms of content, the most striking innovation is page two: Here, from Tuesday to Saturday, a daily opinion page appears with commentaries and editorials from the SN editorial team, but also with letters to the editor, columns by external authors, picture commentaries and, as a new feature, a weekly contribution by Uhwies cartoonist Pascal Coffez.

"We want to perform our function as a platform and marketplace of competing opinions even more strongly and at the same time offer readers more classification," explains editor-in-chief Robin Blanck in a statement on Thursday. The previous background page will move to page three. Here, current topics will be covered in greater depth. At the same time, the dovetailing of the print edition and the Shn.ch, the news portal of SN, was further improved.
Since April, work has been going on behind the scenes on a redesign, and now the SN is appearing in a new look designed by Appenzell media designer Katja Hösli according to the requirements of the editorial team and the publisher: Since Hösli was already responsible for the last SN relaunch in 2006, she was also awarded the contract for the design this time.
