CNN Money Switzerland gets money from Asian entrepreneurs
A Bangladeshi industrial family owns 20 percent of the new Swiss business channel CNN Money Switzerland. This is reported by the *Handelszeitung* in its latest issue.

Ron Haque Sikder, for example, holds 200 of the 1,000 shares issued in the English-language TV station based in Lausanne. Sikder is the son of a Bangladeshi industrial patron named Zainul Haque Sikder. His Sikder Group, based in the capital Dhaka, is an industrial conglomerate that operates textile factories, power plants, banks and ports.
CNN Money Switzerland confirms that the Sikder family has acquired a minority stake because it is very interested in the "new digital media platform." The family is in talks with CNN Money Switzerland about "duplicating" the media platform in other selected markets. In concrete terms, the Swiss business channel should soon be flickering across the screen with offshoots in Asia and possibly also Latin America.
CNN Money Switzerland will launch on January 24, 2018 at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Urs Gredig, who left his previous employer SRF in 2017 after 14 years, is the editor-in-chief of the new channel (Werbewoche.ch reported). (hae/pd)
