Swiss press drawings at the Museum of Communication
Over the New Year’s holiday, the Museum of Communication will showcase the best Swiss press cartoons of the year. Now in its tenth year, the «Gezeichnet» exhibition provides a platform for this often-underappreciated form of journalism.
This also provides an insight into the work of the illustrators. Press drawings sharpen, exaggerate, hold up a mirror to us - and in this way manage to get to the heart of things in a humorous way. From December 15 to January 28, the harvest of the year will be on display. The Exhibition takes another look back at everyday political madness with the 300 most important drawings.
The tone in political discussions is also coming to a head in this country when it comes to our increasingly globalized and complex world. From the ups and downs of everyday life in Switzerland to the big global political issues, everything is humorously illuminated. Unsurprisingly, US President Donald Trump and his Twitter twitters feature prominently. This year, he has been given the dubious honor of a special cabinet of 90 drawings in the exhibition.
