The other day at the border
Since Canadians mostly watch American films and neglect local productions, the Friends of Canadian Films and the Brad Agency have launched an amusing commercial.

90 percent of Canadian cinema spending goes to US productions. The English-language Canadian film industry in particular has great difficulty in reaching a broad audience, as the Americans dominate the market with their enormous marketing budgets and their own distribution networks. Yet many Canadian films are of high quality, win Oscars or other awards - and often remain completely unknown to Canadians themselves due to a lack of opportunities to see them.
The Friends of Canadian Films want to change this and remind us with the spot "Spaceship at the border": Canadian film is a little different. But that doesn't make it any less worth seeing - on the contrary. The Montreal agency Brad is responsible for the creation and the Montreal-based company Shed for the production. (hae)
