The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) will be chaired by Uwe Tännler for two years from March 2018. He was elected unanimously at the annual meeting, which took place in Hamburg on October 9, 2017. The EMC Board is made up of the presidents of the ten national marketing associations.

"Fighter for innovation and talent development"

Uwe Tännler will take over from Andrew Harvey as the new President in March 2018. "I am certain that in Uwe Tännler we will not only have a seasoned marketing professional, but also a tireless campaigner for innovation, training, knowledge transfer and talent development at the helm of EMC," comments Andrew Harvey. Uwe Tännler says: "I will do everything in my power to ensure that EMC brings the European marketing world even closer together - both on a professional and human level."

Uwe Tännler cites the harmonization of degrees within the framework of EMC certificates, membership growth, the expansion of benefits for members and, in the medium term, the organization of a European Marketing Day as the most important goals of his presidency. Uwe Tännler also wants to intensify relations with the American Marketing Association (AMA) and other global marketing associations. As already announced, Uwe Tännler will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors at the Swiss Marketing Delegates' Meeting in June 2018.

European Certificates of the European Marketing Confederation

In Switzerland, the EMC is best known for its European certificates issued by the professional association Swiss Marketing. They complement the Swiss educational qualifications in marketing and sales with standardized, internationally accepted job titles. This makes it easier to find a job abroad or with international companies operating in Switzerland.
