Florian Wanner, former Managing Director of Radio 24, is to become the new Managing Director of Radio Medien. Radio Medien, which is part of the AZ Medien TV and Radio division, will manage the radio stations Radio Argovia and Radio 24. The management team consists of Nicola Bomio (Head of Program Radio), Marco Kugel (Head of Events Radio), Barbara Novak (Head of Marketing Radio) and Andy Russ (Head of IT/Technology Radio). In his new role, Wanner will report directly to Roger Elsener, Managing Director of AZ Medien TV and Radio and member of the AZ Medien Executive Board.

Uniform management

As part of the new organization, Florian Wanner will take over as Managing Director of Radio Medien and thus manage both radio stations. AZ Medien and Roland Baumgartner will jointly define a new area of responsibility in the coming weeks. Baumgartner has worked for Radio Argovia since 1989. From 1990, he was Head of Central Services and Deputy Managing Director. In 2002, he took over the management of Radio Medien. "I would like to thank Roli Baumgartner for his many years of great commitment as Managing Director at Radio Argovia and most recently at Radio Medien. He has continuously developed the radio business and Radio Argovia in particular and thus made a significant contribution to the success of the division", said CEO Axel Wüstmann in a statement.

Organizational structure strengthens local reporting.

The new organizational structure is designed to optimally support and develop the further growth of the station portfolio and the digital platforms, writes AZ Medien. In addition, regional expertise will be strengthened by local editorial teams in Aarau and Zurich - the teams in Aarau and Zurich will focus exclusively on local reporting. Thanks to the new organization, synergies can be achieved in the production of supra-regional and national content, the press release continues.

This will result in job cuts. As AZ Medien informed Werbewoche on request, five employees, or 200 percent of the workforce, are affected. These employees have been informed. The employees of Radio Medien were informed about the reorganization at an employee information meeting on Tuesday afternoon. (pd/hae)
