Swiss digital signage company JLS Digital has developed strongly over the past few years through the successful expansion of its communications business and the acquisition of Zurich-based custom software provider Mons Consulting. With its 65 experts, JLS Digital is now able to conceptualize, implement and operate complex interaction and communication solutions across all physical and digital channels, according to a statement.

Renaissance takes over all shares with the management

As of September 5, 2017, the parties involved have agreed that Renaissance, together with the existing management, will acquire all shares from the previous core shareholder Investnet and the private investors, who are relinquishing their stake in JLS Digital after four years. As the new anchor shareholder, Renaissance wants to contribute to JLS' ability to continue the successful development of recent years by expanding its core business and consistently investing in new innovations. This should enable JLS to provide even more comprehensive support to customers in the digital transformation, the statement continues.

Patrick Minder new CEO

As part of the transaction, Patrick Minder (previously COO Digital Solutions) will assume responsibility as CEO as of September 6, 2017. Patrick Minder has made a significant contribution to the successful development of the custom software business at JLS in recent years, according to a statement. The previous long-standing members of the management Urs Limacher, Roland Renggli, Khoa Nguyen, Damian Schärli and Nicolas Hoby will remain in the company and continue to be invested.

As part of the sale of the company, the previous CEO Guido Stillhard has decided to sell his shares. He is leaving the company after 16 years, during which he and his team developed the company from a start-up to a digital signage market leader.

With its new shareholders and management, JLS Digital intends to continue to invest a great deal of energy in the adaptation of the latest technological trends - such as augmented reality or intelligent, context-sensitive digital signage solutions - and in the further expansion of its three business areas of digital signage, digital communication and digital solutions, the company writes.
