Since 1997, the BAK has awarded the Jan Tschichold Prize to a personality, a team or an institution for outstanding achievements in book design. The jury awards this prize independently of the competition "The Most Beautiful Swiss Books". This year, the Jan Tschichold Prize, worth 15,000 Swiss francs, goes to Team Bonbon, Valeria Bonin (*1978) and Diego Bontognali (*1977). Their books stem from a culture of warm-heartedness, have a lyrical aspect and are also always a biting conceptual quest, said Thomas Kramer, principal of Bonbon and publishing director of Scheidegger & Spiess /Park Books, in his laudatory speech for the two prize winners.
