Ruben Schönenberger becomes Head of the Toggenburger Tagblatt
Ruben Schönenberger, the former business editor of the Toggenburger Tagblatt, will take over as editor-in-chief of the newspaper from Serge Hediger in early September.

Before joining the Tagblatt, he worked for three years as a government controller for the canton of St. Gallen and as a freelance journalist for various media. The 31-year-old from Toggenburg studied International Relations and Governance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and completed a second Master's degree in New Media Journalism at the Leipzig School of Media.
"Ruben Schönenberger enjoys an excellent reputation in the team and in the valley. We are delighted that we have been able to recruit this committed colleague, who is well connected in the region, to head the editorial team," said Christine Bolt, Head of the Reading Market at Tagblatt Medien and President of the Board of Directors of Toggenburg Medien, in a press release.
Ruben Schönenberger succeeds Serge Hediger, who is leaving the newspaper at his own request after two years. "Serge Hediger has achieved a lot for the 'Toggenburger Tagblatt'. For example, he developed a new editorial concept and was instrumental in merging the Toggenburger Nachrichten and the Alttoggenburger into the Toggenburger Tagblatt. We would like to thank him warmly for his great commitment and wish him all the best for his professional and private future," says Christine Bolt.
