Hansi Voigt and Josefa Haas new members of the Board of Directors of Zentralplus
Hansi Voigt and Josefa Haas have joined the board of directors of Zentralplus, an online newspaper based in Central Switzerland. They replace Daniel Lütolf and Arne-Christian Faisst on the three-member board.

The Board of Directors will continue to be chaired by Nick Mijnssen. In a statement on Wednesday, Mijnssen justified the change by saying that the Board of Directors should be strengthened with even more competent people from the publishing business and the online business. The importance of the regional media as the fourth power of the state must be strengthened, he said. For Zentralplus, it is time to take another step forward here.
"For four years now, Zentralplus has dared to experiment with delivering good online journalism on a regional level. And it's doing so as a purely digital product. This may seem unimpressive at first glance, but it could be groundbreaking for part of the industry," says Watson founder Voigt, explaining his involvement with the Central Switzerland online portal. And Josefa Haas adds: "The future of journalism depends on initiatives like zentralplus. The still young medium is looking for new paths in online journalism with the courage to take risks."
Voigt was managing editor-in-chief of the online portal Watson from 2014 to 2016. Haas is an independent media expert and President of the Swiss Films Foundation. The online newspaper zentralplus is published by MMV online AG. The portal has been online since 2013. (SDA/pd)
