IAB General Assembly: Sales growth and new statutes
IAB Switzerland, the Swiss digital advertising trade association, reported encouraging results for the 2016 fiscal year at its annual general meeting on Thursday, June 1, 2017

A renewed growth in sales is recorded, which is due to the IAB Events, the IAB Memberships and the IAB Academy. Furthermore, the IAB is now aligning itself for the future and re-forming itself in the statutes. There are no personnel changes.
As in previous years, the IAB can look back on many well-attended events, professional publications and positive finances in 2016. With the General Assembly on June 1, 2017, the IAB members now adopt new statutes. The decisive change is the approved entry in the commercial register.
In the course of this, the existing Presiding Committee will be reorganized as the Executive Board of the IAB, in which it is mandatory that one representative each of the industry groups customers, publishers and agencies be represented. The current Executive Board will become an important instrument "Advisory Board". The members of the Advisory Board are specialists of the industry from all areas and support the IAB to be on the right topics in the market. The term of office for all positions is 2 years. The Managing Director works in close exchange with the Board on the day-to-day business.
IAB Academy continues to gain ground
In addition to the already established digital marketing diploma courses, the management seminar is now also permanently part of the IAB Academy course program. The area of in-house training is also in high demand: Companies such as Credit Suisse, Raiffeisen, Tamedia, Espace Media and Mediatonic, among others, had their employees trained on the latest trends in marketing at the IAB Academy. In 2016, a total of 327 people took part in the various course programs.
Focus 2017/18
The IAB recognizes the need in the market for increased communication and interdisciplinary work. In the coming months, the IAB and its working groups will therefore focus on the following areas: The positioning in the market, transparency and education on topics such as direct booking compensation, technical costs, visibility and technology providers. An expansion of the IAB communication channels is also planned. Together with the Federal Office of Justice, the topic of data protection is being driven forward.
National and international presence of the IAB
The international commitment with the Swiss Pavilion at dmexco 2016 continues successfully. Likewise, the Programmatic Advertising Day was held for the second time in November 2016 with almost 400 participants. At the Digital Marketing Awards presented on February 22, 2017 as part of the new digital marketing conference D:PULSE, the performance of the following winners in 2016 was honored (Werbewoche.ch reported):
