Lukas Gähwiler becomes a member of the Board of Directors of Ringier
Lukas Gähwiler, the 52-year-old chairman of the board of directors at UBS, will join the board of directors at Ringier.

The Swiss financial expert will join Ringier's Board of Directors in June 2017 - subject to approval by the Annual General Meeting. The experienced bank manager, who joined the UBS Group Executive Board in 2010 as CEO Switzerland and successfully led the bank's Swiss business until the end of August 2016, has been Chairman of UBS Switzerland since April 2017.
Lukas Gähwiler knows the banking business from the ground up - from private banking and asset management to corporate banking and investment banking. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen, completed an MBA program in New York and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in Boston.
Michael Ringier, publisher and Chairman of the Board of Directors, is pleased about the new addition in a statement: "Lukas Gähwiler is not only an accomplished connoisseur of the Swiss and international business scene, but also a manager who has strongly driven digitization projects both inside and outside UBS. We are very pleased that he will bring his extensive professional knowledge and great people skills to Ringier."
Under Lukas Gähwiler, UBS was one of the founding members of the DigitalZurich2025 location initiative launched by Ringier in 2015, which is now positioning itself nationwide as digitalswitzerland. Gähwiler continues to be part of digitalswitzerland's steering committee.
