CEO Dominik Prétôt leaves Telebasel - successor still open
There is a change in the management of the regional television station Telebasel: Managing Director Dominik Prétôt is stepping down from his position at the end of May. His successor has not yet been named.

Prétôt has been a member of Telebasel's management since 2008. He has been CEO since 2014. During the summer, the 40-year-old economist will take on a new challenge, Telebasel announced on Wednesday. Prétôt's resignation was announced at the spring meeting of the Telebasel Foundation, the sponsor of the regional television station. Prétôt will remain with the foundation as managing director, according to the communiqué.
The management of Telebasel will be entrusted to Michael Bornhäuser on an interim basis. The media entrepreneur is a member of the Telebasel Foundation Board.
In the statement, Roger Thiriet, President of the Foundation Board, praised the outgoing CEO's achievements in the Foundation's change process and in building up the "new" Telebasel. He referred in particular to Prétôt's skill in dealing with finances, personnel and the authorities.
In its last full year with managing director Prétôt, Telebasel did well in financial terms. Turnover was increased by around 100,000 francs. With revenues of 8,317,000 francs and expenses of 8,293,000 francs, the result was a profit of 24,000 francs.
Telebasel, with editor-in-chief Karin Müller, was further developed last year into a multichannel provider on the TV/Web/App channels. The 2016 annual report gave an overall positive assessment of this relaunch, according to the communiqué. In the meantime, various adjustments have been made to the new program. (SDA)
