Google image search now provides styling inspiration
Google has introduced a new feature called «Styling Ideas» in its Image Search.
The new function now also shows matching lifestyle images and trend looks when searching for fashion products via Google Image Search. Using a special algorithm, Google delivers high-quality images and shows, for example, which bag and which jeans go best with the red high heels you have chosen. Google has explained this in a Blog post communicated on Tuesday.
Google has also added an extended selection of "Similar products", which should also make it easier to search for related products. In addition to the prices, the direct link to the store offering the product is also displayed. In this way, attention is drawn to similar-looking products in other price categories.
With this step, Google is positioning itself more strongly as a point of contact for fashion and styling questions. And thus pushes into the territory of fashion top dogs such as Instagram or Pinterest. The function is initially only available for access via mobile devices. (hae)
