Last but not least: Behavior in Web 2.0
Etiquette experts are not at all pleased with what’s going on online. Good manners have to be learned—even on the Internet. That’s why the German Etiquette Council has developed rules of conduct for Facebook and other social media platforms.
Twelve recommendations are intended to ensure confidence in social networks. For example, you can make some mistakes when choosing a network: "Think critically about which networks are suitable for you." The decisive factor here is whether the platform is used privately or professionally. Business partners or superiors who you wouldn't call "friends" in real life won't become such on Facebook either. In addition, no overly intimate information and not every emotional outburst needs to be posted online. Think first, then write. No clumsy confidences, always remain friendly and make sure you use the correct form of address and a polite farewell greeting. Also be careful with users who have as many contacts as possible on their list. The etiquette advice knows: this is not necessarily a sign of quality! Now there's not much that can go wrong. Still unsure? Etiquette helps further.
