ProSiebenSat.1 Group makes channels freely available via TV apps
The ProSiebenSat.1 Group wants to grow digitally and is making its entire range of stations available on mobile devices.

According to a statement, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group is taking the next step towards the digital future: Since Thursday, all of its channels have been available live and as VoD (Video on Demand) free of charge via its own TV apps on smartphones and tablets. The broadcasting group is thus expanding its mobile offering and focusing on growth in the digital sector.
"Today's TV viewers increasingly want to be able to watch TV on the move. Anytime and anywhere. With the new apps - for tablet or smartphone - we are making this possible," says Andrea Haemmerli, Managing Director of SevenOne Media Switzerland, the Swiss subsidiary of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. All its channels can be accessed on the apps both live and time-shifted. The apps themselves and the use of the entire media library are free of charge.
Viewers can use the apps to start watching a movie on the go and seamlessly finish it later on their TV set at home - or vice versa. Anyone who has missed a program can watch it in the apps' media library.
All other ProSiebenSat.1 Group channels - Kabel Eins, Sixx, Sat 1 Gold, ProSieben Maxx and Kabel Eins Doku - can also be accessed via their own TV apps from Thursday. The already established 7TV app will remain as a separate cross-channel platform and offers the optimal application for integrating all channel brands into a partner offering.
Pre-, mid- and post-rolls for on-demand content will be shown on the apps as well as on the 7TV app or the channel websites, according to a request from Werbewoche. Additional advertising blocks in the live signal are not planned. (hae/pd)
