Overcome your inner bastard or save the world
On the newly launched CommitMe platform, participants link their personal goals to societal goals.

The mechanism is very simple. Users make a bet on CommitMe - with the most important person in the world, themselves. The current user bets on the platform show what this looks like in concrete terms: "I won't eat meat for a month. Or I will donate 50 francs to the animal rescue service". Or: "I will write a children's book by June. Or I will donate 300 francs to Childhood Cancer Switzerland".

The benefit for the users is that they can finally overcome their inner couch potato and achieve their goals thanks to the betting promises. And the benefit for the participating NGOs are new ways of fundraising and the donations that go directly to the charitable organizations.
CommitMe.ch was initiated by Markus Schaub and Rolando Baron and has been online since February 2017. In addition to the implemented user bets, the platform is constantly being expanded with additional features - for example with community bets, counter bets and supporter bets. A wide range of communication measures are also planned - from social media mechanisms to media partnerships.
NGOs currently participating are Amnesty International, Fairmed, Childhood Cancer Switzerland, Save the Children, the Swiss Heart Foundation, the Animal Rescue Service Foundation and Visoparents Switzerland. The platform is also supported by the Swiss Tobacco Prevention Fund TPF.
