Spool hosts the first escalator challenge at Shoppi Tivoli

Spool made Shoppi Tivoli visitors sweat. At the first escalator challenge in 2017, visitors were allowed to do exactly what is usually forbidden: sprint up the escalator in the opposite direction. Celebrities also took up the challenge.

Hundreds sprinted up the escalators in the Tivoli Mall against the running direction. By the dozens, spectators stood around the escalator standing in the center and in the gallery. Equipped with helmets, knee, shin and elbow pads, there was no stopping the participants: they dueled to beat the best time and fight for the main prize - a trip to New York worth 5,000 Swiss francs. The strategies were different, but the goal was always the same: to achieve the best time! And all this under the eagle eyes of the referee, who always had his whistle ready for fair play.

Media partnership, sponsors and well-known personalities

In order to provide an appropriate setting for the event, the mall was unceremoniously transformed into an arena, in which not only Shoppi Tivoli was able to present itself as host, but the tenants were also involved: thus, the waiting zone was transformed into a Micasa seating lounge, the warm-up zone was supplemented with equipment from the local SportXX and the Flower Power fitness center provided the necessary proteins with fresh smoothies.

Radio Argovia was present as a media partner and hosted the event with the two morning show hosts Dara Masi and Daniel Studer.

Celebrity participants also took the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at the Escalator Challenge: Dominique Rinderknecht, Frieda Hodel, Remo Käser, Rafael Beutl and "Gossipa" ran against the Shoppi Tivoli crew in a relay race. The Charity Run raised a total of 5,000 Swiss francs, which was presented to the "Fitness for Kids" organization by center manager Patrick Stäuble.

Spool's promoters were used in numerous and varied ways: as actors in the teaser video, as logisticians during set-up and dismantling, and as hostesses and hosts at the event itself.
