Starting in May 2017, the Swiss edition of Bergwelten magazine will be published. Christian Andiel is the editor-in-chief.

Bergwelten magazine, which was successfully launched in April 2015, is starting its own edition for Switzerland in May 2017. The respected author and journalist Christian Andiel has been recruited as editor-in-chief for the Swiss edition.

The initial print run of the title is 100,000 copies in German-speaking Switzerland. In addition, the mountain and outdoor portal bergwelten.com offers hiking enthusiasts more than 12,000 tours, 1,000 huts and unique 3D hiking maps.
"Creating a Swiss Bergwelten media brand is an interesting and exciting task. We have a good role model in the successful German and Austrian counterparts. As the content of Bergwelten magazine will focus on Switzerland, we are convinced that readers will be inspired by the unique quality of the images and texts as soon as they leaf through the magazine and immerse themselves in the local mountain world. Thanks to the local content, we will be able to inspire many readers and users in Switzerland with our brand," says Wolfgang Winter, General Manager Print Red Bull Media House.

"From leisure hikers to classic mountaineers, from sports-loving alpinists to families with children - the magazine is intended to appeal to everyone in Switzerland who enjoys spending time in the mountains or simply dreams of doing so," says Christian Andiel, explaining the magazine's philosophy.

Bergwelten magazine is published six times a year and also publishes themed special editions twice a year. With 71,511 copies sold (IVW Q3/2016), the title is one of the leading consumer magazines in the outdoor segment. Red Bull Media House Print Verlag is part of the Salzburg-based Red Bull Media House and, in addition to The Red Bulletin and Servus in Stadt & Land, also publishes the nature and knowledge magazine Terra Mater and operates the motorsport portal Speedweek.
