NZZ Fachmedien and Boll Verlag merge
Die NZZ Fachmedien und der Boll Verlag fusionieren zur NZZ Fachmedien AG. Der CEO und Inhaber des Boll Verlags, Thomas Walliser, übernimmt ab 1. Januar 2017 die Geschäftsführung des fusionierten Unternehmens.
The NZZ Media Group integrates Boll Verlag. It is thus further expanding its Business Media division, which includes specialist media as well as information services and events. Boll Verlag's core products include the design, architecture and lifestyle magazines Wohnrevue, Modulør and Places. They now complement the offering of NZZ Fachmedien, which publishes a broad portfolio of magazines - including Textil-Revue and Pack aktuell - and provides publishing services for third parties.
"Thanks to the merger, we are strengthening our position in the attractive niche of construction, architecture and design, where we already have a strong foothold with the leading information platforms Architonic and Bindexis," explains Monica Dell'Anna, Head of Business Media at the NZZ Media Group. Boll Verlag also offers corporate publishing services and produces the "Edelweiss Travel Magazine", for example.
The NZZ Media Group will hold a majority stake in the merged NZZ Fachmedien AG. The CEO and owner of Boll Verlag, Thomas Walliser, is a shareholder and will become Managing Director of the new company. "The merged company is very well positioned to further advance the digitization of specialist media," says Thomas Walliser. The previous Managing Director Thomas Müllerschön will be closely involved in the integration process and will retire in the course of 2017. "With his many years of publishing experience and entrepreneurial spirit, the new Managing Director Thomas Walliser is the ideal person to head NZZ Fachmedien AG. I would like to thank my esteemed colleague Thomas Müllerschön for his commitment. He has managed NZZ Fachmedien with prudence and skill for many years and is handing over a solid business that is ready for the next step," says Monica Dell'Anna.
