Zermatt secures the Best Ski Resort Award, as it did in 2014. With Saas-Fee in 5th place, Adelboden-Lenk in 7th place and the Aletsch Arena in 9th place, four Swiss ski resorts are represented in the top 10 of the survey - the same number of destinations as from Italy.

Best Ski Resort, carried out by Mountain-Management Consulting in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck, examines every two years the offer under 20 different aspects in 54 alpine ski destinations. Almost 50,000 winter sports enthusiasts in the participating destinations took part in this on-mountain survey of the Alps, directly on site, and decided which are the top ski regions in Europe. Here, therefore, no professional bodies, experts or evaluation portals determine, the Best Ski Resort Award is the award directly from the slopes.

Zermatt, the defending champion, wins in the categories of piste preparation/quality, ambience, coziness and exclusivity. The ski resort of Laax, Mecca of freeriders, wins in the Fun & Snow Parks category, Saas Fee in "Snow Safety" and "Safety on the Slopes". Adelboden-Lenk has the highest re-visit rate. In this category, positions 1 to 5 are occupied by Swiss destinations. Finally, the Aletsch Arena comes first in the category "Rest/Recreation".

"Our winter guests have once again spoken in this renowned, Alpine-wide study and shown how highly satisfied they are with Switzerland's winter offerings," says a delighted Jürg Schmid, Director of Switzerland Tourism. For him, Best Ski Resort is one of the most important and meaningful studies on the needs and satisfaction of winter tourists in the Alpine region.

At Best-skiresorts.com the results of the study are available to all winter sports enthusiasts.
