Patrik Müller also becomes AZ Editor-in-Chief
Patrik Müller will become editor-in-chief of the AZ Nordwestschweiz newspaper group and will remain editor-in-chief of Schweiz am Sonntag. Rolf Cavalli, head of digital media and the Aargau region, will become deputy editor-in-chief.

Patrik Müller, Editor-in-Chief of Schweiz am Sonntag, will additionally take over as Editor-in-Chief of AZ Nordwestschweiz as of 01.01.2017. The two brands Schweiz am Sonntag and AZ Nordwestschweiz will thus come under unified management. Rolf Cavalli, Head of Digital Media and Region Aargau, is now Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
Müller has headed Schweiz am Sonntag since it was launched in September 2007. After graduating from the University of St. Gallen in 2000 with a degree in business administration, the 41-year-old first worked as business editor at the Aargauer Zeitung. He then worked as a reporter for SonntagsZeitung and as head of news for SonntagsBlick.
As Head of Digital Media, Rolf Cavalli has been responsible for the editorial management of all news portals of AZ Nordwestschweiz and the regional sections of the Aargauer Zeitung since 2014, and is Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Previously, the 48-year-old worked for Ringier from 1997-2013 in leading positions in the Blick Group, most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Blick.ch. He graduated from the University of Zurich with a degree in general history and political science.

Through the close collaboration of Müller and Cavalli, AZ Medien confirms the high importance of digital transformation, according to the statement.
The editorial team of AZ Nordwestschweiz will continue to include deputy editor-in-chief Andreas Schaffner and chief of staff Roman Würsch. Beat Schmid remains Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Schweiz am Sonntag.
