Hasselblad Masters winner in Zurich
The Foundry agency is bringing Russian artist Katerina Belkina to Zurich.

Originally, the idea was just to create a new website for Katerina Belkina. However, the collaboration with the renowned Russian artist quickly turned into something more: Foundry brought the Hasselblad Masters Award winner's multiple award-winning artworks to Zurich in 2016, initiating Belkina's first exhibition in Switzerland. The exhibition is on display at the Photobastei until the end of October.

The vernissage - The opening of Russian artist Katerina Belkina's first appearance in Switzerland was well attended. After speeches by curator Daniel Blockwitz and Sacha Moser, founder and creative partner of the Foundry agency, Katerina Belkina opened the more informal part of the evening. Summer lived a day longer thanks to her summery pink dress.
The heads of spirits sponsor The Wild Alps, Peter and Theresia Angel, provided the necessary light-hearted exuberance and lively conversation with selected pear vodka and fine Morris Dry Gin - mixed with Gents Tonic Water. An informal atmosphere prevailed despite the crowds.

The audience included members of the Russian embassy, journalists and influencers Darya von Bergen (Swiss Glam) and Julian Bohorquez (My Cosmic World).
For the Foundry agency, the exhibition is an expression of its passion for outstanding collaborations with brands, people and products worldwide, with whom it works together on their visions. Katerina Belkina as an internationally renowned and award-winning artist turns out to be a perfect match.

The artist - Katerina Belkina paints with her camera. The combination of photography and outstanding mastery of digital technology was not only honored by the evening audience: In 2015, she took first place in the Lucas Cranach Art Award of the foundation of the same name and in 2016, in addition to the Hasselblad Masters Award, she also secured first place in two categories of the MIFA Moscow International Awards.
Photobastei is presenting three series of her work until October 30, 2016: "Revival", "Light and Heavy" and "Empty Spaces". In "Revival", human identity undergoes a deification. Predicates of the series are themes such as motherhood, spiritual growth, an inverted renaissance and the liberation of the hedonistic way of life. "Light and Heavy" shows an intense dialog with the urban world: Belkina's hometown, the Volga metropolis of Samara, offers an urban environment with the supposedly most beautiful women in the world. The third series, "Empty Spaces", depicts the power of Moscow in two opposites: Love and hate.
