Monopoly League
Dominance on every field: FC Basel is getting its own Monopoly game.

FC Basel has a quasi-monopoly on championship titles in the Swiss soccer world. The longer, the more. That's why the race for the championship in the current Super League season is as good as decided after just ten rounds. From a neutral point of view, that's a shame, but you can't blame the spoilsport FCB for that.
If the season is getting too boring even for die-hard Bebbi, Gaming Partners is now opening up new ways to bridge the tension-free time between international assignments. The Liechtenstein gaming agency has developed the "FC Basel 1893 Monopoly" in close cooperation with FC Basel and will be selling it exclusively via the club's own fan store and Manor's sales channels from October. In limited edition.
In contrast to the classic version, no houses or hotels are built, but football stands or stadiums. No roads or tracks are bought in, but players themselves, such as Yann Sommer, Franco Costanzo, Scott Chipperfield, Benjamin Huggel or in a double pack the Yakin or the Degen brothers (sic!). Or officials like Christian Gross, Gigi Oeri or Helmut Benthaus. Unfortunately, the press release does not reveal whether a whirlpool field was also thought of for Mrs. Oeri.
All in all, that sounds like a lot of fun - and a successful marketing idea. Which, by the way, is not new. Gaming Partners has not only provided various clubs in Germany with their own Monopoly version, but also FC St. Gallen last year. So far, at least on the cardboard playing field, another club has been ahead of the game. (hae)
