When pictures say more than 1000 words
Zurich Tourism invited international Instagram stars from Australia, Canada, Italy, and Sweden to spend four days in the city. During that time, they took photos of the city on the Limmat and showcased them to an international audience.
Local and international Instagram celebrities met Zurich fans and Instagrammers. The influencers travel the world full-time. They are known in the social media world for their extraordinary images with their own visual language. Millions of followers admire their work every day. From September 22 to 25, they roamed the streets and hills of Zurich, serving their followers with images of the city. Every day before sunrise, the photographers accompanied by Zürich Tourism went to the Uetliberg, Zürichberg or the Lindenhof. They were particularly inspired by the fog that hung over Zurich in the morning hours and provided unique lighting conditions. Another highlight was the sunset on the Waid, which amazed even the well-traveled influencers, according to the press release.
On September 25, they took part in the big Instameet on Sunday. Then all the Instagram stars - including those from Switzerland with international appeal - met for brunch at Fischers Fritz restaurant in Zurich, right on the lake. Instagrammers and Zurich fans had the opportunity to meet the international and national celebrities in person and watch them at work. Over 65 Instagrammers made lively use of the SUP, wakeboarding and kayaking on offer, repeatedly snapping pictures themselves for their Instagram channel.
The invitation to Instagrammers is part of Zürich Tourism's marketing strategy. Every year, Zürich Tourism accompanies around 600 international media professionals from 35 countries on more than 200 media trips to Zürich and the region. In addition to this classic international media work, new forms through social media are becoming central to the marketing of a destination. Zürich Tourism is breaking new ground in this regard.
