Don't stop me now

The Swiss clothing brand Strellson is causing an international stir with its Queen cover.

Freddie Mercury would have turned 70 on September 5. At the same time - and probably not by chance - Strellson launched the campaign for the fall and winter collection "Make yourself unstoppable". The online film is based on a cover version of "Don't stop me now" - produced by the London songwriter and producer MNEK, who has already worked for greats such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Beyoncé. The 3:41-minute fantastic journey of the protagonist, who cannot be stopped by any situation, no matter how bizarre, is a creation of Serviceplan Campaign X. The film was produced by Wanda - the Hamburg-based production company not only has a wealth of advertising experience, but has also shot numerous music videos, including Madonna, Placebo and Morcheeba.

The film is polarizing, but is largely well received. It has already been viewed half a million times on YouTube in just one week. The portal finds it "absolutely brilliant" Adtrasher.com. And for Lbbonline.com it's "The Most stylish Rendition of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" we've ever seen". That's right. Every now and then, even a good cover version of a classic succeeds. (hae)
