"Vomit" affair: Army chief Blattmann apologizes to SRF and Brotz
Army Chief Blattmann has formally apologized to the SRF editorial board and «Rundschau» host Sandro Brotz «for the inappropriate, personal slur.».
He is aware that he may have offended the public. He regrets this, André Blattmann wrote on Monday in an email to SRF editor-in-chief Tristan Brenn and "Rundschau" editorial director Mario Poletti, which is available to the SDA news agency. The two had demanded a public apology from Blattmann for his comments at the beginning of May. According to a report in Zentralschweiz am Sonntag, the army chief is said to have referred to the "Rundschau" presenter as "Sandro Kotz, er Brotz" at a seminar for general staff officers in Glatt, Aargau. In a program in March, the journalist from Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) made confidential documents about problems in connection with the so-called Bodluv project - the procurement of new surface-to-air missiles - public. However, Blattmann continues to maintain his criticism of the person or persons who passed the documents on to third parties. According to Zentralschweiz am Sonntag, he is said to have told the officers that he would be pleased if they were figuratively led to the slaughter. He will personally assist with the dismantling of the insignia. (SDA)
