Last but not least: Painting with data

The major Dutch bank ING is using state-of-the-art technology to bring the artist Rembrandt—who was believed to be dead—back to life and have him create a new work.

Together with Microsoft, the JWT agency and the support of art historians, the major bank has created a new, never-before-seen Rembrandt painting for the Rijksmuseum. Thanks to the help of big data, facial recognition software and a 3D printer, it will look as if Rembrandt had painted it himself. (sis)
