Last but not least: Hashtag irrelevant
Social media be damned: If you want to read really good stories, you’re usually better off picking up a book. That’s the message from FCB Auckland in an extremely amusing campaign.
We read almost the whole day. Mostly banalities. Someone somewhere has done something. Of course we add our two cents, even if no one was waiting for it. Whether in WhatsApp groups, on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat: our society's need to communicate seems limitless. And so, day in, day out, we read stories that would certainly not have been worth the paper in the past. In the time that we devote to the blah-blah of our fellow human beings, we could also read a good book. Its content would probably provide more than just information about who ate what for lunch, where they went shopping or who they met. Unsurprisingly, this is also the opinion of the New Zealand bookstore chain Paper Plus. The FCB Auckland agency communicates this message perfectly. Thumbs up emoji! (hae)
