Restructuring at Ringier
Ringier started the new year with a restructuring of its international set-up. Several changes have been in force within Ringier Africa and Asia since the first of January.
The aim is to support growth in international markets with broader management and international support, as Ringier wrote in a press release on Thursday.
Last year, Ringier Africa and Asia Pacific once again recorded significant growth in all core businesses and countries on both continents. Important milestones were also reached, including the market entry in Myanmar. To ensure quality and efficiency for further expansion, Ringier introduced a new international structure at the beginning of the year.
Leonard Stiegeler, former General Manager Ringier Nigeria & Head of Ringier West Africa, takes over the management of the African business as General Manager Ringier Africa. Mark Slade, former Head of Digital Marketing Agency RDM in Nigeria, takes over as General Manager Ringier Nigeria. Florent de Rocca-Serra, former Head of New Business Implementation Ringier, takes over as the new General Manager Ringier Asia Pacific. Jessica List, formerly part of the Ringier M&A and Business Development team, has been appointed CFO Africa. Jessica Stiles, former Head of Marketing International Markets, has been appointed CMO Africa & Asia. All these positions report to CEO Asia & Africa Robin Lingg, who was elected to the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG on January 1st. Julian Artopé, currently Director Ringier Africa, will devote himself to an MBA course from the end of March after four years of intensive commitment to the development and establishment of Ringier Africa.
To further support the international concept, Ringier Africa will be supported by four dedicated teams divided into the business units Classifieds, E-Commerce, Content and Digital Marketing. Each division will be managed by a focused team with expertise in the fields of Marketing, Business & Operations and Product Development.
Robin Lingg, Managing Director Ringier Africa and Asia: "Due to the high speed and growth of our businesses in Africa and Asia, a reorganization was necessary. I am convinced that this development of the organization will enable us to expand our leading market position in the areas of classifieds, content, e-commerce and digital marketing in all our markets. I am delighted to see several internally promoted leaders emerge from our proven and high performing team. I would like to sincerely thank Julian Artopé, who has been instrumental in building the business and has been largely responsible for the success of Ringier Africa."
