Telebasel with new TV program, Internet portal and mobile app
After a two-year phase of strategy, planning, and implementation, the Basel-based regional broadcaster Telebasel is launching a completely revamped content offering consisting of a new TV lineup, a regional news portal, and a mobile app.
The new core target group is families in the 30 to 50 age group with regional roots, who will be served in future with four main topics: news, sport, society and enjoyment. The main topics will be equally represented in the daily TV program and on Telebasel.ch and the iOS mobile app. The topics are researched and prepared in a newsroom that is staffed from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm.
Under the slogan "24/7 what moves the region", the editorial team produces highlights of the content on offer, such as the TV news block, daily from 6.30 pm and every half hour with weather, six news topics from the region as well as a general news overview, the major regional sports topics with FCB, Roger Federer and the winners of the region as well as a current news topic of the day. A new addition to the program is "Glam", a show about events, society and personalities, which is broadcast for the first time at 6.55 pm. On the subject of "Indulgence", one of the region's star chefs will present his recipe every Friday at 7.15 pm. The popular magazines such as "Report", "Gsund", "Diagnose" and "Reihe 8" will also be broadcast on weekdays at 7.15 p.m., as will the new "FCB Magazin".
The same structure can also be found in the online and mobile offering, in which stories are constantly available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in 32 channels ranging from "News" and "Sport" to "Glam", "Food" and other relevant topics. The high proportion of moving images on Telebasel's digital channels will certainly be unique in the regional media scene.
"Our content is always up-to-date and covers the relevant areas of the target group's information needs. It is important for us to provide comprehensive information on the topics that move the region, no matter where they happen," says Karin Müller, Editor-in-Chief of Telebasel. "We are all looking forward to January 28, when we can finally hand over the new service to viewers and users," continues Müller. The online portal on Telebasel.ch will be launched on January 28, 2016 at 6 a.m. and the new TV program on the same day at 6.30 p.m.
