Armin Meier leaves Infront Ringier
Armin Meier has been managing director of the sports marketing company Infront Ringier since July 2011 and played a key role in building the company. Now he wants to take on a new challenge.
After an initial career as a professional cyclist, Armin Meier began his career in the sports business at IMG Switzerland in 2001. In 2010, he moved to Ringier in the area of sponsorship and marketing. In 2011, he became Managing Director of the newly founded company Infront Ringier Sports & Entertainment Switzerland, a 50/50 joint venture between Ringier and Infront Sports & Media based in Zug.
Since the company was founded four years ago, Infront Ringier has secured the marketing rights for the Swiss Football League and the Tour de Suisse. The Swiss Indoors Basel and Swiss Cycling have also transferred their marketing rights to the well-connected Infront Ringier in recent years. The Swiss Ice Hockey Cup and the successful B2RUN Swiss corporate running series in the growth segment of popular sports events were newly established.
InfrontRingier also markets sports personalities such as Fabian Cancellara, Yann Sommer, Florence Schelling, Jonas Hiller, Bruno Kernen and others.
Armin Meier is leaving the company with immediate effect to pursue a new challenge, as detailed in a press release. Lukas Troxler, currently Director of Marketing & Business Development and member of the Infront Ringier Executive Board, will take over the management of the company on an interim basis.
